The WakeUp Foundation and the protesters in support of Deborah Mihaylova from Stara Zagora are the winners of the prestigeous human rights award "Human of the Year 2023" in the 16th edition of the event organised by the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee.

We were acknowledged for our advocacy work which resulted in changing the Law for protction from domestic violence. We achieved this by uniting 37 NGOs in a non-formal coalition "Together against violence" which worked with polititians in making the much-needed changes a reality.
