In 2018 we launched the FB group <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/zaednoprotivnasilieto">You're Not Alone- Together Against Violence</a>. Today it's the largest online community in Bulgaria for people affected by domestic violence, with over 9,200 members.Their constant need for help and advice is the reason why we founded our charity with the aim to offer systematic help, act as a hub for advice and to educate the Bulgarian society that domestic violence is a societal, not a private problem.Since 2022, the WakeUp Foundation moderates voluntarily the group. <h1 style="text-align:justify;">You are not alone- together agains violence&nbsp;</h1>In March 2018, right after the failed ratification of the Istanbul Convention, independent media momichetata.com together with charities like Alliance for Protection from Gender-Based Violence, Animus Association Foundation, P.U.L.S. Foundation and the Bulgarian Fund for Women organised the campaign "You are not alone - together against violence". It formulated 5 demands to the Bulgarian state regarding the lack of will to fight domestic violence and succeeded. For the first time in Bulgaria, over 30 NGOs and madia outlets like Grazia, Slaveykov Square stood together. Over time, the campaign focused on developing a community of victims of violence through the FB group "You are not alone - together against violence", which organically grew to over 9,000 members becaming the main channel of communication for the NGOs working against domestic violence. From this group came the "You are not alone" Clubs, which won the prize "Person of the Year" award in the same year. The group continues togrow offering daily mutual aid and valuable advice to thousands of people affected by domestic violence.

Our origin

На организирана от нас среща с бъдещи народни представители 37 неправителствени организации, обединени в Коалиция „Заедно срещу насилието“, призоваха политическите сили да се ангажират с приемането на нов Закон за домашното насилие. Представителите на гражданския сектор, сред които Фондация Асоциация Анимус, Фондация П.У.Л.С., Български фонд за жените и ние, Фондация „Будителките“, прочетоха призив в настояване за спешни и неотложни действия по разглеждането и приемането на нов Закон за изменения и допълнения на Закона за защита от домашно насилие (ЗЗДН), веднага след конституирането на новия парламент на Република България. На срещата присъстваха представители на Коалиция „Продължаваме промяната – Демократична България“, сред които – Калина Константинова, Надежда Йорданова, Лена Бориславова и представители на политическа партия ГЕРБ, сред които – Анна Александрова и Рая Назарян. На срещата не присъстваха представители на ДПС, БСП, ИТН. Изказвания направиха и Георги Георгиев, председател на Столичния общински съвет, Емил Дечев, зам. министър на правосъдието и Ирина Иванова от Министерство на труда и социалната политика.

Как да се организираме?

<h5 style="text-align:justify;">One of our main goals is to advocate on behalf of people affected by domestic violence in Bulgaria.
